| description 2: | In the heart of the Aravis Massif between Annecy and Chamonix, Le Grand Bornand is a traditional Savoyard village. Most of its development as a ski resort has gone on up the road in neighbouring Le Grand Bornand Chinaillon while Le Grand Bornand itself has retained its character as a mountain farming community.
Life revolves around the traditional mid-week farmers market, alongside the Reblochon Market, first held in 1795. Situated at the entrance to the Bouchet valley, the ski area is accessed from the village via two gondolas.

| description: | Large, traditional French village 6km from La Clusaz with which it shares the Aravis Lift Pass. Apres ski is wide ranging with a discotheque and a large selection of eateries. The higher part of the resort is known as Chinaillon, located at 1300m and where most of the skiing starts. It is a "station" in its own right with loads of apartments and a few hotels. There are many shops and restaurants, bars and a discoteque. A bus links with the village of Le Grand Bornand. You can only ski down to Grand Bornand itself in very good snow conditions. |
